Hurricane Katrina

People displaced by hurricane Katrina who are finding shelter and aid in Tennessee are also seeking medical and pharmacy services.  VHP CommunityCare joins TennCare in asking providers to provide appropriate services to these patients even when eligibility questions may exist.

TennCare offers assurance that it will provide assistance in coordinating payment issues with other state Medicaid programs.  Because of computer system incompatibility, TennCare cannot process Louisiana or Mississippi pharmacy claims directly.
